This month’s guest speaker is the well-known author and political identity Andrew Tink. Andrew will be discussing his acclaimed book: “Australia 1901 – 2001 a narrative history”. A century that made us as Australians cry, laugh and beam with pride. Truly a book worth reading and a talk not to be missed. Join us for an insightful night and a cup of tea to follow at Lane Cove Library 7 pm Tuesday, March 27.

  • 24th April Jane Eales – Secrets, Spies & Spotted Dogs

 

Author Jane Eales will relay a remarkable story about the quest to uncover her mysterious birth-mother and the part she played in WWII. 7pm, Lane Cove Library – supper afterwards.

University of Sydney Guest speakers Dr. James Flexner, Pamela Chauvel and Amelia O’Donnell will focus on the excavations at Triabunna and Maria Island that research working class and childhood archaeology in Tasmania. LCHS Friends will dig up supper afterward.  7 pm, Lane Cove Library

Join us in June and be intrigued by this month’s guest speaker Heather Garnsey who is the Executive Officer at SAG (Society of Australian Genealogists). How does one begin to trace their family tree and make their ancestors come to life?  How do you become that detective that finds the stories of the people you are researching?
