Welcome to Lane Cove Historical Society
curators of
Carisbrook Historic House
Open the third weekend of every month except December 10am - 4pm
Since 1962, the Lane Cove Historical Society (LCHS) has been researching the history and heritage of life on the North Shore.
Its charter is also to collect and manage artefacts and memorabilia representing life in Lane Cove from the time of the Indigenous owners of the land, down through the subsequent two hundred years.
LCHS also has the curatorship of Carisbrook Historic House and welcomes volunteers who feel they would like to contribute to the community in an interesting way by becoming a Friend of Carisbrook.
Built in the 1880s from locally quarried sandstone, Carisbrook is a survivor of a time when land around the Lane Cove River was a world away from Sydney Town.
